The Buckeye Womens Club Hockey Booster Association

The Buckeye Womens Club Hockey Booster Association is an organization that helps support the Ohio State Womens Club Hockey team (a 501(c)3 non-profit organization) by providing organized fan support. In addition the group helps to raise funds to assist the hockey program.

There are just over a 100 legitimate womens college hockey programs in the country. The Ohio State Womens Club Hockey team is the first and only ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) program in the state. The ACHA consists of college clubs from coast to coast; the league is complete with preseason, season, and postseason rankings, a national tournament, and year-end awards, such as All-American teams, etc.

The team personifies all the good that amateur athletics should be about. All of the girls are full-time students who maintain a minimum GPA in order to participate, many hold part-time jobs, and all are dedicated individuals.

All of last years seniors graduated from The Ohio State University. Past players have received regular recognition as All American, All Academic American, All Conference and the team has sent four players to the regional USA Womens Hockey Olympic Team trials. The team won the 2007 CCWHA Championship.

Such successes can only occur with the support of the teams boosters and generous supporters.

In addition to hockey, our coaching staff enjoys stating that our team goals arent necessarily hockey goals. Rather, our main aspiration is to develop trustworthy, dependable people and responsible citizens through the life lessons found in athletic competition. Four core principals serve as the foundation of our team: love, trust, respect, and personal responsibility. Hockey is the conduit through which these character attributes are instilled.

Through it all, the basic goals of the club have remained the same; To participate in the highest level of hockey possible while still maintaining the club team atmosphere that emphasizes academics, allows for a life outside of hockey, and prioritizes faith, family, and school before athletics.

In order to compete on a national level the OSU Women's Club Hockey team's budget is $40,000 annually, of which the players provide a substantial amount of with personal funds in the form of yearly dues. Its the clubs desire to keep player fees as low as fiscally possible thus ensuring the participation of as many student-athletes as possible. The Buckeye Womens Club Hockey Booster Association helps make being part of the team financially possible for the players and to compete on a national level.

The booster association helps in a number of ways including helping with the teams fundraisers (Kroger Card Program), volunteering and through financial contributions by the members (all donations may be tax deductible).

Please consider supporting these women and the team by joining the Womens Club Hockey Booster Association, either as a volunteer member and/or by becoming a $25, $50 or $100 Booster. These kids are special. The team is dedicated to making them better but only with the support of our great booster group.
