Franke is an Ohio native and comes to the team from Gilmour Academy where she played with Laura Buntemeyer. Together they were members of the first Gilmour U-19 team to beat rivals National Sports Academy and Culver Academy.

Academically, Franke was a member of the National Honor Society and recipient of science and math awards.

2008-09 Season
Franke is solid and reliable on defense. She is averaging 19:08 of ice time a game. She registered her first point as an assist on October 18, 2008 against Grand Valley State in Columbus during a 3 – 2 over-time loss.
